Bayern Munich are set to undergo a roster rebuild under Vincent Kompany in this summer's transfer window. The Belgian tactician is expected to make a few changes in all departments, as the Bavarians are desperate to put up a strong challenge in European competitions.

As per Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, the club are offering him a contract until 2030. There have been positive developments in the last 48 hours, and the Bavarians are close to striking a contract renewal with the defender. However more details need to be clarified.
This news comes days after it was revealed that the team management aren't satisfied with Kim Min-jae's performance since joining from Napoli. He could be one of the potential candidates to leave the club this summer.
With Bayern getting linked to Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah, Kim may very well be on his way out.
Upamecano joined Bayern Munich in 2021 from RB Leipzig, and since then, the French defender has featured in 147 matches, scoring five goals. In this time, he has won three Bundesliga titles and and a couple of DFL Supercups with the club.
As per FBref, he has registered 1.87 tackles, 1.52 interceptions, 2.85 aeriel duels, and 6.63 progressive passes per 90 minutes.
The Frenchman has the qualities to be the leader in defence for Bayern for a long time. Therefore his contract renewal should be a reassuring sign for the fans.
