Taylor Frankie Paul Reacts to ‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Doug Mason's Support After Cancellation
Members of Bachelor Nation are weighing in on the franchise’s recent turmoil.
Zach Shallcross and wife Kaity Biggar—who wed in June after falling in love on The Bachelor season 27—reacted to ABC’s decision not to air Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette as planned after a video of her and ex Dakota Mortensen in a physical altercation surfaced online.
During an appearance at Clarins’ Night of Extra in Los Angeles March 20—which celebrated the launch of the new Extra-Firming Energy Moisturizer—Zach, 29, exclusively told E! News he felt the network “made the right move, moving forward.”
As for what’s next for the long-running dating series, Kaity—who attended the event alongside her husband—is eager to see a fresh start.
“I think Bachelor Nation needs to go back to what their roots were,” the 31-year-old explained, “which is finding people that truly want to fall in love and not prioritizing chaos and drama for views.”
Zach seemingly agreed, adding, “There's enough shows that have that, for sure.”
Indeed, Kaity encouraged the franchise’s producers to prioritize organic connections above all else, pointing to herself and Zach as an example of the show’s matchmaking success.

“They just need to go back to what they know best,” she continued, “and finding couples that truly want to fall in love and find their person.”
Meanwhile, a contestant from Taylor’s Bachelorette season also weighed in on the cancellation, admitting he’s “so f--king pissed” about the turn of events.
“We all gave up so much to go do this. We all came in with open hearts,” he exclusively told E! News. “Obviously, the way she acted and the way she treated all of us in hindsight is just a waste of time, a waste of energy, a waste of emotional intelligence.”
Nonetheless, he expressed his hope that the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star “gets the help that she needs.”
