A deranged Staten Island man is being grilled by cops after allegedly tossing his 1-year-old niece down a third-floor garbage chute on Monday afternoon, police and sources said.

Cops responded to the 195 Steuben St. building shortly before 3:15 p.m. on reports of an emotionally disturbed person inside, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Inside, police found the child, who was not injured, three floors below the chute opening, and took the girl’s 39-year-old uncle in for questioning.
