De'Mario "Raz B" Thornton and Mona Li Thornton are navigating a heartbreaking loss.

The B2K singer and his wife shared the death of their son Astro Monte Thornton just three months after welcoming him into the world.

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Astro Monte Thornton, beloved son of Mona and De’Mario 'Raz B' Thornton of the R&B supergroup B2K," the couple's spokesperson David Robinson told USA Today in a statement Sept. 10. "The family asks for privacy as they navigate this difficult time. They truly appreciate your love and support."

His cause of death is not known at this time.

Raz B and Mona—who also share son Versai Carter Thornton, 23 months—announced that they were expecting another child back in May.

"I always wanted to take a real family picture with my own family… and finally, God made a way," the "Bump Bump Bump" singer captioned a May 18 photo shared to Instagram of himself posing with Versai, a visibly pregnant Mona, and her daughter from a previous relationship. "Right now we’re at the hospital getting ready to welcome our newest addition, Astro, another baby boy to the Thornton family."

"Big congratulations to my beautiful wife for being so strong through this journey," Raz B continued. "Watching you become a mother again is one of the greatest blessings I could ever witness. The Thornton family continues to grow… and our legacy does too."

The following week, the couple announced Astro's arrival via a post on Versai's official Instagram account.

"Best week ever," the May 23 video's caption read. "We welcomed my new baby brother Astro into the family, and it already feels amazing being a big brother."

"Even during such a special moment, my mom and dad still made sure to love on me and make me feel special," it continued. "Shoutout to my big sister/my best friend for always loving, teaching, and looking out for me… aka my other mother. So many beautiful memories this week."

Mona also shared some footage and photos of Astro in a Father's Day tribute to her husband.

"We Thank you for all you do!" she captioned the June 22 Instagram post. "Thank you for your love, commitment and generosity for us and those you care for. Thank you for protecting us, being our safest place and our forever hero! We hope you enjoyed your Father’s Day 'Dada.'"
