T20 is known to be a fickle format, where the even big, dominant teams could falter since there is not much time to recover from stumbles. As a result, it is difficult for a team to go on very long without a loss, unless they play perfect cricket on a sustained basis.

While it is rare for teams to record 20 wins or above consecutively in the shortest format, there are some select players who have had the privilige of being with the team during wins, often playing a key part in them as well.

On that note, let us take a look at the top five longest unbeaten streaks for a player in T20I history.

#1 Shivam Dube (37 matches)

The Indian all-rounder enjoyed a dominant and record run in the shortest format in T20Is, after going 37 matches unbeaten, a stretch that began way back in 2019. Dube's streak came to a tame end when India lost to Australia in the second T20I at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, October 31.

Prior to that, the last loss that he experienced in the format was during the second T20I of the home series against the West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. He had scored his maiden T20I fifty while coming into bat at No.3, but the visitors chased down the score in the penultimate over.

#2 Pascal Murungi (27 matches)

Uganda international player Pascal Murungi takes second place in the all-time list with a stunning run of 27 matches without defeat in T20Is. In his T20I career spanning 37 matches so far, he has experienced a loss only once, which came during the 2022-23 Rwanda Tri-Nation Cup against Tanzania in Kigali.

Since then, he has not been part of a loss, and his streak of wins continues. Uganda suffered a series of defeats during their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign, but since Murungi was not a part of the squad, his streak was unaffected.

#3 Jasprit Bumrah (24 matches)

Team India, unsurprisingly, have a stellar win record with Jasprit Bumrah in the playing XI. The Men in Blue have lost only 14 out of the 77 matches where the express speedster has played.

Bumrah's 59 wins in T20I cricket also includes a stunning run of 24 matches without a loss. Team India's recent loss at the MCG not only ended Shivam Dube's streak as mentioned above, but also Jasprit Bumrah's budding streak.

The last loss that Jasprit Bumrah experienced with the Indian T20I side was their infamous loss against New Zealand in the group stages of the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During the four-year run, he relished a series win over Australia, captained the team to a series win in Ireland, and was part of an unbeaten 2024 T20 World Cup campaign as well.

#4 Manish Pandey (20 matches)

The promising middle-order batter had a promising run in the Indian T20I side, but could not cement his place despite holding a stellar average of 44.31. He played in 33 T20I matches, including a stunning run of 20 matches unbeaten.

Manish Pandey's last appearance came during the win over Australia at the Manuka Oval in 2020. His streak remains alove as the last loss he experienced in T20I cricket was during the tour of South Africa in 2018. India had lost to the hosts by six wickets at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

#5 Mohammad Shahzad (19 matches)

The flashy Afghanistan wicket-keeper batter was once an integral part of the side during their ascendancy in world cricket. He had a stunning run of unbeaten 19 matches from 2016 to 2021.

The loss came during the 2021 T20 World Cup group stage against Pakistan, and he went on to play only three more matches after the campaign, all of which came during the 2023 Asian Games in China.
