Athletics' Nick Kurtz is youngest player in MLB history to hit 4 home runs in one game

There are really no words.

Athletics rookie Nick Kurtz came to the plate six times on Friday night in Houston. He singled. He doubled. And he homered four times.

A 6-for-6 night with four home runs, six runs scored and eight RBI. Astounding. Incredible. Practically perfection.

Kurtz became the youngest player in MLB history to hit four homers in a game, per @JayHayKid, at 22 years old.

It's also just the 20th 4-HR game in MLB history, and the first in Athletics history.

And it's just the second six-hit, four-homer game in league history, joining Shawn Green.

Kurtz joins Eugenio Suarez as the second player to hit four homers in a game this season.

The A's rookie has been on an absolute tear since his call-up.

He actually stands alone in second place for most extra-base hits by a player in his first 66 MLB games. Kurtz has an astonishing 43 of those now, trailing only Joe DiMaggio (48).

Kurtz may play for a long time, but he likely won't ever do again what he did on Friday night in Houston. What a special night for the game of baseball.
