The Houston Astros were quick to bring in their newest additions to their team following the MLB trade deadline on Thursday.
Houston was able to go out and add some help in the batting lineup through trades. They were able to put together a deal that brought in shortstop Carlos Correa, reuniting him with the team that drafted him with the No. 1 pick in 2012, also adding outfielder Jesus Sanchez from the Miami Marlins, and Ramon Urias. '
These acquisitions were made due to the Astros' need to add a left-handed bat in their right-handed-heavy lineup, and also finding a replacement for third baseman Isaac Paredes after he went down with a hamstring tear.
Correa and Sanchez started for the Astros at third base and outfield on Friday, leaving Urias out of the lineup after Jeremy Pena was reinstated from the injured list.
Urias's debut was put on pause until extra innings between the Astros and Boston Red Sox. At the end of Houston's 2-1 loss to Boston, Jeremy Pena exited the game in his first game back from a rib fracture.
With this news taking place, Ramon Urias made his Astros debut, moving to third base while Carlos Correa transitioned back to his normal shortstop position.
Ramon Urias, 31, was having a below-average season with the Baltimore Orioles before getting traded. Through 77 appearances this season, Urias had a .248 batting average, .300 on-base percentage, .388 slugging percentage, and a .688 OPS while hitting eight home runs and 34 RBI.
