Aston Villa have started making moves after spending most of the summer on the sidelines of the market.
The club were expected to sell key players due to profit and sustainability rules (PSR) but have avoided that scenario.
This gave Unai Emery the freedom to rebuild his squad with additions instead of making difficult sacrifices in attack.
Villa quietly brought in Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot along with teenage midfielder Zepiqueno Redmond to add depth.
The squad still requires additional firepower, particularly after Marcus Rashford's return to Manchester United following a brief loan spell.
However, with no permanent agreement in place, the manager is now seeking a long-term option to strengthen the wing position.

The club believes they’ve identified someone who fits that role and who could be a long-term attacking threat.
Aston Villa turn attention to Manchester United outcast
Villa have started talks to explore a deal for Alejandro Garnacho, according to a report from Daily Mail.
The Argentine winger scored 11 goals and delivered 10 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions last year.
Despite his output, Garnacho has not convinced new Man United boss Ruben Amorim of his long-term value.
Amorim has already decided the 21-year-old is not part of his plans and is willing to let him go.

Villa see a chance to sign a player who still has rough edges but massive potential under good coaching, and Emery is known for turning raw attackers into disciplined finishers and it is believed Garnacho can follow that same path.
Napoli and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the winger, but Villa hope to move first and fast.
They are also chasing young Toulouse defender Jaydee Canvot and eyeing Nicolas Jackson if Watkins ends up leaving.
