French tennis player Arthur Fils was suave in his delivery as he appeared to shoot his shot with Germany’s Eva Lys while at the French Open on Tuesday.

Lys, the WTA’s No. 81-ranked player, interviewed Fils while at the Club Lacoste party at Roland Garros, where he complimented her dress before saying he would grab a drink with her on a rooftop for golden hour.

“What’s the special detail tonight that feels très Lacoste to you?” Lys, 24, asked.

“The amazing dress that you’re wearing,” the 21-year-old Fils said while pointing at Lys’ white and green ensemble by Lacoste. “I think it’s really Lacoste and I really love it.”

The pair laughed as Lys said, “Very charming, thank you.”

She added that she was “a little nervous, not gonna lie.”

Things escalated from there.

“Who would you go have a drink with on the rooftop for golden hour? You have to pick a boy and a girl,” Lys asked.

“If I pick a boy, I’d go with Mehdi Saraoui,” Fils said. “If I have to pick a girl, I’d go with you.”

A smiling Lys responded with, “I’ll take that, that’s a good answer.”

The interview took place on a rooftop overlooking the Eiffel Tower around sunset.

It’s unclear if Lys and Fils, both Lacoste athletes, actually grabbed a drink together.

Fils, the No. 20-ranked player, withdrew from the 2026 French Open due to a hip injury.
