Arsenal co-chair Josh Kroenke sets sights on Budapest after Premier League triumph

Arsenal co-chair Josh Kroenke says the club's Premier League title triumph has vindicated years of trust placed in Mikel Arteta, as the Gunners shift their focus to next weekend's Champions League final in Budapest.

Speaking after Arsenal were confirmed as champions for the first time since 2003-04, Kroenke offered a rare insight into what the club means to the ownership group and acknowledged the years of patience it had taken to reach this point.

The American also made clear there would be no let-up, with a European crown still on the line and what he described as 'several' more objectives left to chase.

"Emotionally, financially, everything, this club means the world to us and I think it took people a few years to really understand what that meant," Kroenke said.

"But now we've got some great people, we've got some great players, some great coaches, and we've just gotta continue providing them the resources to go out and do magical things like they did this season.

"Credit to our players, our staff, and Mikel for keeping their heads on. They deserve it.

"It's nice to see the results at times, but you get really good people that have a really good work ethic, and you trust each other.

"Over time that trust gets tested at different points, but when it comes to fruition like it does today, it makes it all worthwhile, that's for sure."

On the road ahead, Kroenke added: "We've achieved one of our goals, but we have several others as well.

"There is still one to be played for next weekend. So I think today is about enjoying today, and tomorrow we'll get back to work because there's still one more to play."
