In his debut season at Liverpool, head coach Arne Slot has successfully led the squad to bring home the Premier League trophy to Anfield.
Liverpool claimed the Premier League title in April, with 82 points in the table and four games remaining for the season. While they maintained a consistent form in the league, which includes only four defeats in 37 matches, the Reds failed to pull off the same in other competitions.
And now, with only one more fixture left for the ongoing season, Liverpool are anticipated to be more invested in the upcoming summer transfer window as a part of their preparations for an even better run in the next campaign.
Recently, Slot was asked to share some insights into Liverpool's recruitment plans in the summer. The Dutch manager candidly mentioned that considering the reported transfer plans of their rivals Manchester City and Arsenal, it would be 'stupid' for the Reds to not make changes to their squad.
What did Arne Slot say about Liverpool's plans in the summer transfer window?
With the summer transfer window approaching, Man City and Arsenal along with most clubs have been linked to several prominent names to strengthen their respective squads ahead of the upcoming season.
Speaking about what can be expected from Liverpool in the transfer window, Slot stated how it is 'not that easy' to find suitable players to add to a squad that has won the league title.

He also mentioned (comments via BBC Sport) that even if he has 'certain players' in mind, they are already playing at clubs that they 'don't want to leave.' However, the Dutchman assured that the Reds will try to acquire the signatures of the 'few' stars they are considering.
"City will probably strengthen the squad again. If the rumours are correct, Arsenal is planning the same, so it would be stupid if we are not looking at trying to strengthen the squad as well," he said.
"Again, I've said it many times, it's not that easy because this team has already won the league. So to find players that can strengthen us - that might not be that difficult - because there are certain players in the world where I think, 'if they would come, it would be nice," added Slot.
"But they're also playing at clubs where they don't want to leave. So there are not many that can strengthen us, but the few that are out there, we will try to get them. At this moment of time we're not sure if that's possible," he concluded.
While Liverpool have already signed contract extensions with their existing key players like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, it remains to be seen what new additions Slot makes to his squad for next season.
