The Army has suspended the crew involved in the helicopter stunt outside Kid Rock’s Tennessee home, US military officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The 55-year-old rocker, born Robert James Ritchie, praised those who have served our country and made the “ultimate sacrifice” on social media as he took a dig at California Gov. Gavin Newsom amid “No Kings” protests across the state.
“This is a level of respect that s**t for brains Governor of California will never know,” the post read, taking a direct shot at Newsom.
“God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”
In the clip, Ritchie stands outside his Nashville home, saluting a helicopter crew hovering just feet away from the so-called “Southern White House” before flying off moments later.
The chopper was later identified as an AH-64 Apache helicopter. The post has been viewed more than10.5 million times.
Maj. Montrell Russell, an Army spokesperson, told ABCNews that the four members of the crew had been suspended “while the Army reviews the circumstances surrounding the mission, including compliance with relevant FAA regulations, aviation safety protocol, and approval requirements.”
The helicopter had originated from Fort Campbell Kentucky and flew to Nashville.
On Monday, Russell confirmed that the branch had begun an administrative review “to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements,” the Post reported.
Maj. Jonathan Bless, with the 101st Airborne Division, said that the helicopter crew had been on a training run when they stopped by Rock’s house. Bless also said that the mission had nothing to do with the “No Kings” protests that took place in that state over the weekend.
As a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, Kid Rock has blasted Newsom’s failed leadership and policies, most recently after the governor’s press office said the singer had officially been banned from performing in the state.
The “American Bass A**” rockers estate is located in Whites Creek, Tennessee and is legendary. It features a gold-plated toilet and a massive American flag that rivals most car dealerships.
Rock was part of the performances at the 2024 Republican National Convention. He has also been at the White House numerous times.
