Arkansas, John Calipari land 6-10 star in transfer portal commitment

John Calipari's next Arkansas team just got stronger.

Coach Cal picked up a huge transfer portal commitment on Tuesday from the ACC.

Florida State's Malique Ewin will be joining the Razorbacks, according to ESPN.

Ewin is a 6-foot-10 star. For the Seminoles this past winter, he averaged 14.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and shot 59.6 percent from the floor.

Arkansas had a big need in the frontcourt that is now filled. The Razorbacks will also benefit from a top-10 recruiting class for Calipari.

Arkansas struggled in the early stages of the regular season in Calipari's first year in town, but they closed strong and earned a No. 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Razorbacks went on to upset No. 2 seed St. John's and Rick Pitino in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32.

They'll be hoping to get out of the gate faster in 2025-26, and given that Calipari will have more familiarity with the program, they've got a good chance.

Adding Ewin is a definite plus toward both a quick start and a strong finish.
