Arkansas head football coach Sam Pittman and his team got lucky this holiday season, as the Razorbacks starting QB Taylen Green made a huge announcement about returning for the next season.
It was the Christmas present the Razorbacks needed.
"He wants to be a Hog, he wants to play here, he wants to play for the state,” Pittman said, per On3.
"And that’s nothing against the guys that got in the portal. It isn’t. Their business is their business, but it’s a big deal to me that he wants to stay here and run it back and stay with Bobby and stay with that offense. I think it will be so big and beneficial to him, and it will help us in recruiting as well."
A former Boise State Bronco, Green joined the Razorbacks just in time to play in the 2024 season. It was a good decision made by Pittman the Razorbacks and Greene have shared a close relationship during the season.
Green decorated his resume better in just a year as a Hog than he did in his three years with Boise State with stellar stats.
In 2024, the QB tallied 2813 yards in passing, and 13 touchdowns, against nine interceptions -- as compared to the 1752 passing yards, and 11 touchdowns against nine interceptions in the 2023 season with Boise State.
Green has one more year of eligibility. Arkansas is a team with admitted NIL issues, though they are moving the needle in the right direction. Maybe the Razorbacks' brain trust could give him more weapons next season.
