Arch Manning makes a stunning admission ahead of 2025 season

As the 2025 college football season approaches, all eyes are on Texas Longhorns star quarterback Arch Manning.

Although Manning has yet to be the QB1 for an entire season, there has been plenty of buzz and hype around him since his high school days.

Now, with Quinn Ewers off to the NFL, it is officially Arch Manning time in Austin.

During SEC Media Days, Manning was as humble as can be and dropped a rather surprising admission, per Pete Thamel of ESPN

"It's weird. I really haven't deserved any of this, so just trying to play along and play ball," Manning said.

Manning started two games in 2024 after Ewers was injured, and he played well, but Ewers took the job back after he recovered from the injury.

His attitude is contagious, and head coach Steve Sarkisian even said as much during media days.

"He doesn't think he's more than he is, doesn't walk around pointing at the name on the back of his jersey," Sarkisian said. "He's just an easygoing guy. He's very relatable. He's a good teammate with a really good sense of humor that works extremely hard, and he works extremely hard because he wants to be really good. He's not doing it for anybody else."

Manning could be a Heisman Trophy frontrunner when its all said and done, and he could even be the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft depending on how things work out.

Only time will tell, but there is a reason why so many eyeballs have been on Manning since his high school days.
