Manning posted an apology statement to Instagram on Tuesday, calling his comments "insensitive."

"It's easy to say I didn't mean it, but I know my words and actions were hurtful to a lot of people," Manning said. "I do not take that lightly and am deeply sorry for that."

Manning also apologized to Rowe in particular, adding that he appreciates her "showing [him] grace" after the controversy. "I need to do better and will be more thoughtful going forward," Manning continued.

Manning didn't say whether he spoke directly to Rowe, though his comment about the ESPN reporter showing him grace indicates he might have given her a personal apology.

What did Arch Manning say?

Asked by Inside Texas' Evan Vieth whether he had seen any social media edits from the comeback against Ohio State, Manning said he had seen "a few" videos.

"I’ve seen a few AI edits, that’s about it. I saw an AI edit of Sark’s interview,” Manning said. “Y’all seen that one? That’s a good one. Of him slapping Holly Rowe. It’s hilarious.”

Manning's response prompted a firestorm of controversy on social media, but Texas is certainly hoping his apology marks the end of the saga.
