This week is Indie Games Week in Apple's App Store, a celebration of games made by independent developers. Throughout the week, the App Store will spotlight "indie gems" with daily features and curated collections, and seven "highly acclaimed" titles are making their debut on iPhone and iPad, either available for download now or up for pre-order.

The first one Apple highlights is Sifu, the third-person kung fu brawler from Sloclap and Kepler Interactive. It arrives "fully adapted" for mobile, with custom-tuned touch controls, a reworked camera system, and full controller support. Then there's Vampire Crawlers, a gothic card battler from Poncle and Nosebleed Interactive that's a spin-off of Vampire Survivors, trading dodging bullets for deck building.

Apple starts App Store Indie Games Week with seven new arrivals

The biggest name of the bunch is probably No Man's Sky, which Hello Games is bringing to iPhone and iPad on October 28 - so this one is a pre-order for now. The mobile version includes every major content expansion to date, including the recent Cosmos update that lets you command your own space station.

The rest of the lineup consists of Little Kitty, Big City, the kingdom builder 9 Kings, the alien mining simulator Dome Keeper, and Yes, Your Grace 2: Snowfall. These four are all available to download now.

Carson Oliver, Apple's head of App Store Worldwide, says indie games are "constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity", and that the company wanted to celebrate the teams taking creative risks. Apple also points out that the App Store gives these developers "a global stage" that helps them turn "daring visions into worldwide hits".
