Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, at its September launch event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The company will start taking pre-orders for the iPhone Duo on October 16, which is this coming Friday. Shipping will then start on October 23, exactly one week later.
Since the iPhone Duo is expected to be available in rather limited quantities at first, if you really want one, then you should use Apple's Get Ready service, which has just been made available for the iPhone Duo pre-orders.

This lets you select all of your options ahead of time, so that when pre-orders go live on Friday at 5AM PT / 8AM ET, you will basically just need to click or tap one button to place your pre-order, thus ensuring you get a front-row spot in the line.
With Get Ready, you can select your iPhone Duo's color and storage capacity, as well as pick your carrier status, choose any accessories you want to buy, pick an AppleCare+ plan, select a trade-in, add your payment information, and set your shipping and billing addresses. Then you just hit the "Pre-order" button on Friday and you should be set.
Get Ready is available on the Apple website and in the Apple Store app.
