The Issue: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s recent neglect of her district, while on an anti-oligarchy tour.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a woman of little intellect and complete self-interest who pursues of the trappings of the rich thanks to the good fortune of having many constituents who demand nothing more than a measure of fame from representatives (“ ‘No’-Casio a district no-show,” May 11).
Shame on her voters for accepting so little from those they send to DC.

I am all for voting AOC, along with her fellow Squad members, out of office. They are not American in the true sense of the word.
AOC is an offense to my rights as an American man. If she wants socialism, she should go to a socialist country.

There is some comfort knowing that AOC’s constituents, who glowingly supported her and her lofty promises, are now discontent. They are witnessing the emergence of a power-hungry candidate who has visions of becoming the 2028 Democratic presidential nominee with her socialist and anti-oligarchy rhetoric.
Ocasio-Cortez is traveling the country, gathering crowds of adoration, while her district is neglected and left without representation.
She thrives on her “Latinx girl from the hood” image to connect with people, when she’s actually from the affluent hamlet of Yorktown.
Hopefully, her constituents will demand better representation and select a new representative. The power is in their hands.

To all the people in AOC’s district complaining that she does nothing but spend tax money on herself, here’s a crazy idea: Stop voting for her.
You complain, yet don’t get off the barstools on Election Day. She wins with minimal voter turnout. What does this tell you?
Stop whining and do something about it, otherwise shut up.

It’s nice to see that AOC’s supporters finally recognize what a fraud she is.
She is a media darling who doesn’t care about the people she is supposed to be representing. Her district offices are ornaments designed to make it look like she’s an active representative of the community.
It’s time her voters realize that they have been duped by a con artist and elect someone who actually cares about the community.

What else is new with politicians?
After promising the world to get elected, they fatten their personal wealth — constituents be damned.

The Issue: Gov. Hochul’s $254 billion state budget, including tax hikes to advance the MTA’s capital plan.
So I see Gov. Hochul’s budget is ready to slam New York’s middle class again (“MTA gets a bailout,” May 9).
Putting speed cameras on bridges and in tunnels and covering corrupt politicians’ legal fees — are the Democrats trying to force the middle class out of New York with this idiotic budget?
As a life-long resident, it’s getting pretty unbearable to live here.

Why isn’t the entire hierarchy of the MTA fired immediately for gross incompetence?
It is a never-ending story: new projects that never finish but overrun their budget; rampant overtime that no one monitors; no one is held responsible. None of these “managers” would last one week in corporate America.
Yet Hochul just keeps opening our wallets for the MTA’s budget.
