CM Punk had a moment of regret after stating how open he was to defending the World Heavyweight Championship against the RAW locker room. He was confronted by a controversial ex-United States Champion, who seems to be first in line for a title shot.
At first, the promo was a bit mushy, and CM Punk began to thank people for his big win, most importantly, his wife and partner, AJ Lee. However, he praised some of the stars in the RAW locker room, making a surprising statement that on his best day, JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day could dethrone him. He even said that he has his eyes on Finn Balor.
However, it was ex-United States Champion Logan Paul who came out. There was instant regret from CM Punk for sounding like a champion open to challengers, but Punk made it clear that it was "anybody but" Logan Paul. The social media megastar laughed while coming to the ring as Punk was cursing his luck being confronted by Paul.

However, there was another "Paul" who swooped in, and that was Paul Heyman, accompanied by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. They made it clear to Punk that they were coming after him, and Logan Paul seemed unclear about what to do. Punk told him to either get out of his ring or help, and Paul chose to leave.
However, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed would not allow Logan Paul to cross them and shoved him down before ambushing the World Heavyweight Champion. After a moment of thought, Paul went back into the ring but was ultimately outnumbered and hit with a tsunami.
It was only after this that Punk got a steel chair and successfully took Bronson Reed out while driving Breakker away - setting up the first major World Championship story for The Second City Saint on RAW.
