Anthony Volpe reacts after striking out during the Yankees' May 20 game.

One bizarre Yankees injury after another — including Austin Wells joining Aaron Judge on the injured list Saturday with cervical headaches — has forced José Caballero to bounce around on defense.
That means more Anthony Volpe at shortstop.
He was set to be in the lineup there again Saturday night against the Red Sox before the game was rained out, with Caballero in right field.
The three-hit game Volpe delivered May 26 seems anomalous; he’s in a 3-for-22 funk with a walk and four strikeouts in the six games since then.
