The Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the steadier teams in the Western Conference over the past few seasons, but Anthony Edwards wants them to break through to the NBA Finals.
Last year, the Timberwolves' season ended in disappointing fashion when Minnesota lost to the San Antonio Spurs in the second round. That just capped off a bumpy season, as there were hints of discontent in the locker room despite winning 49 games.
Edwards appears to be leading the charge of giving the Timberwolves a different attitude, something he addressed on camera. The star guard seems to want his squad to bring a certain chippiness to their game when the season starts next week.
Here's Edwards' warning to the rest of the NBA.
Anthony Edwards' message to rivals
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is clearly feeling great about his team entering the season. When discussing what it will be like for opposing teams to go up against the team this year, Edwards went on an expletive-laden explanation of how physical
"We gon foul the s*** out you," Edwards said. "It's a bunch of bulls*** this year."

— NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) October 15, 2026Minnesota has endured a consistent stretch of success with Edwards as its star, making the playoffs in each of the last five seasons. That includes two trips to the Western Conference Finals, which were only the team's second and third times making it that far in the postseason.
However, last year, the team took a step back by losing in the second round of the playoffs, and the season wasn't nearly as fun as the few years before. Therefore, the Timberwolves added LaMelo Ball in the offseason, hoping the point guard can add some joy and playmaking ability.
Edwards already seems ready for a different approach in 2026-27, something Minnesota hopes can propel them to the top of the Western Conference.
