Angels' Jo Adell delivers stunning walk-off hit to shock Giants and keep surprise AL West contention alive

There might be something special brewing in Anaheim.

The Angels weren't expected to be contenders at all this year. That's a status they've occupied for the past decade.

But somehow, they keep finding ways to win, and Jo Adell was the latest to play the hero role on Sunday against the San Francisco Giants.

The Angels went to the bottom of the ninth trailing 4-1.

But they battled, getting one run back and then loading the bases for Adell.

The former top prospect ended proceedings with one swing.

He yanked a liner into the left-field corner, and the Angels sprinted around the bases. One run, two runs, three runs, ballgame.

Fittingly, it was the recently returned from injury Zach Neto who slid home headfirst safely with the winning run.

The fact that the Angels got off to a fast start without Neto, who may have been their best player last year, was even more notable.

Now with Neto back, things are even better for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Angels improved to 11-10 with the key victory, keeping them just a game back in the AL West in the early going in a tightly bunched division.

This one could come all the way down to the end of September, and every win will count. Adell delivered to get one more victory on the board.
