Angel Reese continues to prove the doubters wrong this season with her efficient, dominant play, and when the Chicago Sky faced off against the WNBA’s best team, the Minnesota Lynx, she made sure both she and her team were ready to deliver this time around.

Reese recorded her eighth consecutive double-double, finishing with 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals on a highly efficient 8-of-14 shooting, which is 57.1%. While not even her highest shooting percentage of the season, it was enough to silence critics on a big stage. With this streak, Reese is well on her way to challenging the WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles, a mark of 15 she set as a rookie last season.
After the game, Reese had high praise for herself and her teammates.
“Somebody said we wasn't the best young core in the league, I think we're the best young core in the league for sure. Hands down,” Reese said.
Reese was not the only Sky player shining in this pivotal game. The team rallied behind her to hand the Lynx an 87-81 loss, only the fourth defeat for Minnesota this season.

Fellow second-year standout Kamilla Cardoso also put up a dominant double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Meanwhile, Ariel Atkins led the scoring charge with a team-high 27 points, helping to swing momentum firmly in Chicago’s favor.
This win over the league’s top team gives the Sky a major boost, showing what they are truly capable of heading deeper into the season.
