Angel Reese did not hold back after seeing one of her former LSU teammates announce major personal news. The Atlanta Dream star quickly went viral Thursday night after reacting to former LSU Tigers women's basketball teammate Alisa Williams announcing her engagement to Iowa State offensive lineman Carson Rhodes.
Williams shared photos from the proposal on Instagram, and Reese immediately jumped into the comments with reactions fans instantly started sharing across social media.
“I’M GAGGEDDDDDDD,” Reese wrote.
That was not her only response.
“OMGEEEEE,” Reese added in another comment before later posting heart-eyes emojis reacting to the engagement photos.
The emotional reaction quickly spread online as fans loved seeing Reese openly celebrate one of her former teammates.
Reese and Williams shared unforgettable LSU run
Although their time together at LSU only lasted one season, Reese and Williams were both part of one of the most iconic teams in recent women’s college basketball history. The Tigers captured the national championship during the 2022-23 season behind Reese’s dominant play, swagger, and leadership. LSU’s title-game victory over Iowa and Caitlin Clark became a defining moment for the sport and helped launch several players into national stardom.
Williams later transferred to Iowa State, while Reese stayed at LSU for her senior season before eventually becoming one of the WNBA’s most recognizable stars. Even after going separate directions, Reese’s reaction showed the connection between former teammates clearly remains strong.
