Analyst hints at 2 draft needs on Chiefs' to-do list

The Kansas City Chiefs' offseason, one could say, has been rather fruitful.

Yes, the franchise has lost players, but it has also brought in some nice pieces, plus strengthened its draft hand considerably with two first-round picks.

Exactly what positions the Chiefs should attack in the offseason is up for debate, but there is no denying that some positions should take precedence over others.

Given their draft hand, the Chiefs can go in nearly any direction they want, and that makes them a dangerous prospect.

For NFL.com's Dan Parr, it should be down to two positions for Kansas City.

“A great way to help a rebuilding defensive backfield would be to bring in more explosiveness on the defensive line,” Parr wrote. “And with Patrick Mahomes working his way back from an ACL tear, it would behoove the Chiefs to do everything they can to make his life easier. Adding at least one more player who can make tough catches in traffic must be on the to-do list.”

Do Chiefs need new WR?

That is an interesting question.

Looking at the depth chart, the Chiefs have Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals, Jason Brownlee, and Nikki Remigio.

That is a decent group. But yes, getting a true physical receiver would round out the group nicely.

I can't see that happening at No. 9 (Chiefs' first pick), but some have mocked Carnell Tate to Kansas City. But maybe in the later rounds, a receiver could be taken.

How the Chiefs approach having two first-round picks will be a fascinating watch.

This soft reset might not take long at all. Particularly if the Chiefs get Mahomes another top weapon.
