Taylor Swift’s wedding wasn’t the only thing that put her in the spotlight this week. The “Bad Blood” singer is also leading the pack on Spotify, topping the streaming giant’s list of the most-streamed artists, per internal listener data released ahead of the Fourth Of July.
“As the nation marks its 250th anniversary, we wanted to take a look at how American artists, creators, and authors shape listening at home and around the world,” they wrote.
The streamer found that, by and large, US listeners love content that’s made in America.
According to the data analysis, 69% of all streams in the nation go to American artists, and American-made music accounted for 70% of the Spotify Top 50 chart in the U.S. in 2025.
As for specific artists, Swift topped the musical Mount Rushmore both domestically and globally. This past fall, the pop icon’s album “The Life of a Showgirl” broke the record for most-streamed in a single day for 2025, just 11 hours after its release.
According to the recent Spotify analysis, Morgan Wallen was the hometown favorite, with 74% of his streams originating from U.S. listeners — the highest among American artists.
Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone also accounted for a huge slice of the American listener pie, placing among the most streamed music stars in the US.
Of course, our cultural appeal extends beyond the borders with the US holding the distinction of being the world’s top exporter of tunes.
Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and Eminem ranked just down-stream of Swift when it came to the the most-played American artists ever in the world.
Last year, listeners outside America streamed songs featuring at least one US artist 776 billion times.
The most-streamed American genres domestically were pop, hip-hop, rock, indie, and country.
On the international stage, pop, hip-hop, rock, dance, and indie lead the pack while streams of American country music skyrocketed by more than 94% internationally over the past five years.
What do people listen to on Independence Day? Per the analysis, the top-searched tracks include Bruce Springsteen‘s “Born in the U.S.A.,” Lee Greenwood‘s “God Bless The U.S.A.,” Katy Perry‘s “Firework,” John Mellencamp‘s “R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A.,” and Ray Charles‘ “America the Beautiful.”
The demand for US content isn’t limited to music.
“The Joe Rogan Experience,” “The Mel Robbins Podcast,” “This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von,” Huberman Lab, and “Call Her Daddy” were at the tip of the microphone when it came to the platform’s global charts.
