Amanda Anisimova was asked to make a tough choice between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. Anisimova was recently part of a questionnaire with "SELF" where she played "Would you rather." In this, Anisimova had to pick one from the two options provided.

Among the many questions, the American star was asked if she would rather play doubles with 23-time Grand Slam champion Williams or get coached by five-time Grand Slam champion and Hall of Famer Sharapova. Anisimova answered:

"Both would be amazing," Anisimova said. "I think I would go with a personalized coaching session, but then also to play doubles with Serena would be so cool is coming off a career year performance, reaching two Grand Slam finals and qualifying for the 2025 WTA Finals."

Both Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams are inspirational figures to several women tennis players. The duo were part of the iconic rivalry since the early 2000s, and even Williams acknowledged that the former Russian star pushed her to her limits to perform her best.

Amanda Anisimova gets honest while picking options for tour arrangements

Amanda Anisimova was posed with several more interesting questions that gave followers an insight into the difficulties a professional tennis player faces.

Anisimova said that she would rather have unlimited free travel to matches over consuming her favorite food at every match.

"Oh, I would for sure take the unlimited free travel. That would be so luxurious. I spend a lot of money on my flights," she said.

This goes to show how expensive it is for tennis stars to travel around the world for the tour as they have to foot the bill for flights, hotel stay and food for not only themselves but their entire coaching team.

In terms of playing questions, Anisimova said that she would rather trip than lose a shoe during mid-match. Moreover, she said that playing with a blister is the "worst feeling ever," given her tight grip, and that she would rather "play hungover." The two-time Grand Slam finalist added that she would rather not have only one racquet than to show up with an empty water bottle.

"I would rather show up to a match with an empty water bottle just because I need several rackets just in case the string happens to break," Anisimova said. "And also it depends how important the match is. "I mean, I need many rackets, and you also change them every time you change the balls. So I think I could go two hours without a sip of water. I would just pretend I'm running a marathon or something."

Amanda Anisimova had a career year in 2025 and she would like to finally win a Grand Slam in 2026 after coming close twice this year.
