Untangling Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's Breakup Rumors

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s breakup didn’t come to some fans like a dark horse.

The “Roar” singer and the Pirates of the Caribbean alum—who are parents to daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, 4—called it quits after nine years of dating, multiple outlets confirmed.

While Orlando and Katy have yet to publicly address their breakup, there were signs that their relationship was heading from hot to cold. For instance, they had been noticeably absent at each other’s career milestones, with Orlando nowhere to be seen at Katy’s Lifetimes Tour after it kicked off in April.

Additionally, Orlando arrived conspicuously solo for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding in Venice, Italy on June 26.

In fact, the pair last publicly seen together in April, when Katy embarked on her Blue Origin spaceflight. Come June 10, she missed the premiere Orlando’s film Deep Cover at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.

Katy also seemingly alluded to heartbreak while performing “I’m Still Breathing” in Sydney. “This song is about a breakup,” she explained while opening a packet of gifted Tim Tams in a video posted by Daily Mail on June 11. “And this Tim Tam saved me. Thank you.”

Breakup rumors only continued to swirl on Father’s Day, when the former American Idol judge didn’t acknowledge Orlando—who is also dad to 13-year-old son Flynn Bloom with ex Miranda Kerr—on social media.

And this isn’t the first time that the couple has found their romance on the rocks. After all, Katy and Orlando briefly called it quits in 2017, less than one year after their first meeting at a Golden Globes after-party.

“Katy pulled the plug,” a source told E! News at the time. "They both still love each other very much, though, and getting back together could happen once they have some space."

Sure enough, they reconciled and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2018 Gala for the Global Ocean, before getting engaged in the same year.

So, what made their relationship work throughout the years? “We really understand and support each other,” Katy told E! News in January. “I’m preparing to go on this world tour, and he understands that. [It’s] just like when you’re prepping to do a movie, and some of the movies he’s done are even more physically intense, mentally intense than any of these yours.”

The “Teenage Dream” artist also emphasized that they had each other’s backs. “It’s great to have a family to come home to and a whole identity outside of being ‘Katy Perry’ and music,” she gushed. “I’m really proud of what I created and the time that I have had off because it’s super grounding for me.”
