Gian van Veen was one of the best players in the PDC last year, most notably winning the 2025 European Championship and making a run to the final of the 2026 WC.

His first match was against Poland's Sebastian Bialecki, who didn't have the best day, but it didn't matter, with GVV putting up a performance that was practically impossible to beat.
GVV averaged a new Euro Tour record of 120.24 against Bialecki, winning 6-0.
5 180s, 4 140s, 7 100+ visits and 75% on attempted doubles were enough to get the new record.
GVV is set to play Brendan Dolan in Sunday afternoon's third round of action.
