"All that to go third in division" - NFL fans react as Rams jet off to Hawaii for mandatory minicamp

The Los Angeles Rams are in for a special week in Maui. The team decided to do things differently in the 2025 offseason and started a partnership with the Hawaii Tourism Authority. They'll hold their mandatory minicamp in Maui instead of its traditional place.

There will be a few implications for the Rams due to their new travel destination. Minicamp practices are usually closed to fans, but they'll host an open practice on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the NFL's Instagram profile posted pictures of their arrival in Maui, with players and coaches wearing local clothes. NFL fans reacted with trolling messages.

"All of that to go to the third division," mocked a fan.

The Rams will be practicing in War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku, part of the island of Maui. McVay admitted that this is not going to be a big practice, with the team working for just one hour while they're in Hawaii.

Hawaii's descent Puka Nacua shows excitement for Rams' minicamp destination

Nacua emerged as one of the stars for the team. He was an All-Pro in his rookie season (105 receptions, 1,486 yards and six touchdowns) and also impressed in 2024, although he missed a few games due to injury.

Nacua appeared on Adam Schefter's podcast and spoke about how much he was looking for the trip:

“I'm excited. I can't wait for everybody to go out there and have some shaved ice. I'm sure they'll be waiting for us. I can't wait. I know the McDonald's over there. They serve Portuguese sausage. It'll be good for everybody to get to try some food. I might have to go on a fast after because we're going to have so much."

Although he's of Hawaiian descent, Nacua was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and played college football for Washington and BYU before moving to the NFL.
