Aliyah Boston teams up with Dwyane Wade for special event during WNBA All-Star weekend

Aliyah Boston’s busy WNBA All-Star weekend will include much more than basketball. The Indiana Fever star is teaming up with WNBA legend Candace Parker and Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade for a live recording of the “Post Moves” podcast in Chicago. The special event comes before Boston makes her fourth consecutive All-Star Game appearance Saturday.

Boston and Parker announced the news through the podcast’s social media channels and discussed the upcoming show during their latest episode. Wade, who owns a minority stake in the Chicago Sky, will join the two basketball stars as their special guest.

The live event is free to attend, although tickets are limited. Fans unable to secure a seat will still have an opportunity to watch the conversation, as a recording is scheduled to be released on YouTube on Saturday.

Aliyah Boston’s impressive season continues off the court

Boston entered the All-Star break in the middle of the best statistical season of her WNBA career.

The Fever forward is averaging career highs of 17.3 points, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. She is also contributing 8.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 52.7 percent from the field.

Her biggest improvement has come from beyond the arc. After rarely attempting 3-pointers earlier in her professional career, Boston is taking 2.7 per game this season and converting 46.9 percent of those opportunities. She is making 1.3 triples per contest and entered the break as the WNBA’s leader in 3-point percentage.

That expanded offensive game helped Boston earn her fourth All-Star selection in as many WNBA seasons. She arrived in Chicago ahead of the festivities and participated in Thursday’s Orange Carpet event. Now, Boston will get another chance to showcase the personality and media skills that have helped make “Post Moves” one of her most notable off-court projects.

What Dwyane Wade brings to ‘Post Moves’

Wade should have no shortage of topics to discuss with Boston and Parker. The three-time NBA champion became part of the Sky’s ownership group in 2023, giving him a direct connection to the growth of women’s basketball and the WNBA. The event’s Chicago setting also makes him an especially fitting guest during All-Star weekend.

Parker has her own deep ties to the city. She grew up in nearby Naperville, Illinois, and later helped lead the Sky to the 2021 WNBA championship. Parker and Wade have also developed a close friendship through their work in basketball media, which could lead to plenty of stories during the live show.

For Boston, the appearance represents another significant step in a rapidly growing media career. The Fever star has already shown that she is comfortable discussing the game from both a player’s and analyst’s perspective.

Boston will turn her attention back to the court Saturday, but first, she will share the stage with two basketball icons in one of the more intriguing off-court events of WNBA All-Star weekend.
