Alexandra Palace fan favorite David Munyua qualifies for 2027 PDC World Darts Championship

With the 2027 PDC WC just a few months away, players are slowly starting to secure their spots at the tournament.

In the coming weeks, we will see international qualifiers, giving players from all corners of the country a chance to join a European-dominated field.

On Sunday, a North African PDC WC qualifier was held, as the first of two African players heading to Alexandra Palace was determined.

2026 PDC WC qualifier David Munyua will be returning to the biggest event in darts this year for the second straight time in his career.

The Kenyan booked his spot with an 8-7 thrilling win against Evans Njuguna in the final of the qualifier.

Munyua was pretty consistent throughout the qualifying event, with the exception of one match, averaging in the low 80s from the round of 32 and on.

Munyua became a fan favorite at last year's WC when he upset Mike De Decker in the first round.

He trailed 2-0 in sets that game, but managed to beat the Belgian, in what was viewed as one of the best upset wins in darts history.

The 2027 PDC WC kicks off on Dec. 11 and concludes on Jan. 3.
