Felix Auger-Aliassime booked his spot in the final of the 2025 Paris Masters, blazing past a red-hot Alexander Bublik in the semifinals on Saturday. The Canadian prevailed 7-6(3), 6-4 to reach the final in Paris for the first time in his career, also marking only his second Masters 1000 career final.
Bublik came into the semifinals after convincing wins over Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz earlier in the tournament, and was battling with Auger-Aliassime for a spot in the ATP Finals as well. After losing the opening set in a close tiebreaker, the Kazakh went down early in the second set, losing serve to go 0-2 down.
As the match went on, his temper got the best of him, and the Kazakh let off steam with an angry racket smash. When the duo changed sides, Auger-Aliassime took it upon himself to clean the remnants of his racket still left of the court, drawing an apologetic laugh from his opponent.
While the final at the Paris Masters is an impressive result of its own, what is more important for Felix Auger-Aliassime is that he has now passed Lorenzo Musetti in the ATP Race. He is now ranked No. 8 in the Race to Turin for the ATP Finals, lodgining himself in the final qualifier spot over the Italian.
