Nick Saban is set to team up with President Donald Trump for the latter’s commission on college athletics.
Saban, a seven-time national champion coach, met with the president last week in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where Trump was giving the University of Alabama’s commencement address.
Yahoo! Sports first reported the news of Trump’s commission.
Texas Tech mega-booster Cody Campbell is expected to co-chair the commission as well.
The commission would likely study hot-button issues facing college sports, such as NIL, the transfer portal and student-athlete employment.
Saban has been in the public eye since his retirement following the 2023 season, as the former Alabama head coach joined ESPN’s “College GameDay” last season. He still has an office in Bryant-Denny Stadium, which named the field after him last year as well.
