Al Nassr boss Jorge Jesus keen to sign Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal teammate

It has been a summer of rebuild for Al Nassr as they have appointed a new manager in Jorge Jesus and have also extended Cristiano Ronaldo's contract for two more seasons.

The Saudi outfit are now keen to build a team that can help them win the Saudi Pro League and also make them a force in continental tournaments.

Therefore, they are actively looking to strengthen their roster and the manager's first preference is Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, as reported by A Bola

There were previous advances as well from Saudi Arabia for Fernandes, but he decided to continue at Old Trafford.

But this approach from Al Nassr is quite different as he is closely associated with Jesus, who was the coach at Sporting when he made his debut whilst also being a good friend of Ronaldo.

The Riyadh-based outfit recently signed Joao Felix and if Fernandes decides to move, he will join Ronaldo and Otavio for company.

Some reports have also suggested that Ronaldo has contacted Fernandes in order to convince him to join Al Nassr.

Will Bruno Fernandes move to Al Nassr this summer?

Fernandes was approached by Al Hilal earlier this summer and they were ready to offer a big sum for the Portuguese midfielder, but he wanted to continue at United.

Later he shared how the move would have been easy decision for him considering they already have players like Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo, who are his close friends.

"It would have been an easy move," Fernandes shared after declining a move to Al Hilal. "I had Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo there (at Al-Hilal), two people I have a great friendship with."

"But I want to stay at the highest level, play in big competitions, because I still feel capable."

"There was an opportunity. The president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me."

"I spoke to Ruben Amorim and he asked me not to go. Manchester United didn't want to sell me. They don't need the money."

"If I had wanted to leave, they would have made it happen."

Given Fernandes' reaction to the Al Hilal approach, it would need something extraordinary for Al Nassr to lure him out of Old Trafford.

Fernandes is totally invested in Manchester United and could prove to an important player in Ruben Amorim's rebuild heading into a decisive 2025/26 campaign.
