Before AJ Dybantsa makes a splash in the 2026 NBA Draft, the former BYU Cougars star was a big deal in the classroom.
With the NBA Combine coming to an end, Dybantsa's perfect 4.0 GPA during his time in college surfaced on social media. Whether or not he'll go No. 1 overall to the Washington Wizards, the 6-foot-9 wing is a "student of the game."
There are few college basketball stars who hold down a perfect GPA and stay on the top-end of the NBA Draft boards.
Whether he's the first pick in the NBA Draft or not, whoever gets AJ Dybantsa is getting a "Student of the Game" with a perfect 4.0 GPA#BYU
— Sammy Profeta (@profeta_sammy) May 14, 2026Dybantsa took advantage of his one-and-done season at BYU. The nation’s former top recruit averaged 22.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game last season. He led the country in scoring, earning Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors.
One of the biggest questions before the NBA Draft is Dybantsa's willingness to take on a role in Washington. This becomes more curious knowing the Utah Jazz are currently sitting at No. 2. Any chance to stay near Salt Lake City would be appealing for Dybantsa.
