ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith has slammed U.S. President Donald Trump for his controversial post on Truth Social about late actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, who were stabbed to death on Sunday afternoon in their Los Angeles home. On Monday, Trump wrote that Rob was “tortured and struggling” while adding that the actor and his wife had passed away, “reportedly due to the anger he caused” them while serving as president.
When Smith caught wind of Trump's post, he criticized the U.S. President for being insensitive to the matter.
"I'm talking about prioritizing a core level of decency," Smith said on his SiriusXM radio show "Straight Shooter." "When somebody gets killed, somebody gets murdered, that ain't the time to be sticking out your chest and basically indicating they bought it on themselves because of whatever, and there should never be any place for violence. And you would think that our commander-in-chief, the President of the USA, would know this better than anybody, but evidently, this man does not."•

During Trump’s first term as U.S. President, Reiner described the Republican Party leader as “mentally unfit” and “unqualified” to serve in office.
According to some reports, Rob and Michele's son, Nick, was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday and is being held on suspicion of murdering his parents. However, Trump linked the couple’s death to their personal dislike of his presidency.

"Put Tom Brady in charge, Mark Davis," Smith said on "First Take. "Just hand over. ... hand over football operations to Tom Brady, okay. Figure out the Raiders. Because you need all the help you can get."The Raiders (2-12) have struggled this season under first-year coach Pete Carroll. They have lost eight games in a row, but Smith believes Brady could get more involved in the team's operations if the Raiders want to turn the tide.
