Detroit Lions star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson addressed the media on Thursday and offered a positive injury update.
Of course, Hutchinson's 2024 season ended in Week 6 when he suffered a broken tibia and fibula against the Dallas Cowboys. Hutchinson has been rehabbing ever since and recent videos suggest he's at least close to full strength.
Hutchinson provided some clarity on Thursday, though, when he revealed to the media that he has been fully cleared from his injury.
Aidan Hutchinson injury update
"Aidan Hutchinson says he's fully cleared to return," ESPN's Eric Woodyard wrote.
While it was a long, grueling process for Hutchinson to come back from such a significant injury, he said he never had a setback.
"I feel like my rehab. I didn't really have any setbacks. It was just a gradual climb. I always knew I was gonna be back," Hutchinson revealed, per Woodyard.
Not long after Hutchinson suffered the injury, both he and reports suggested he may return by the Super Bowl if the Lions made it that far. When asked about that, Hutchinson wouldn't say one way or the other if he would've been back.
"I guess we'll never know," he said, per The Athletic's Colton Pouncy.
The previously mentioned video that surfaced on social media of Hutchinson taking part in some rehab work led to concern because it looked like he wasn't totally confident in his surgically-repaired leg.
However, the fact that Hutchinson has definitively stated he's back to 100% should put any remaining concerns to bed.
Now, Hutchinson will move forward in his preparation for the 2025 campaign, when the Lions will need him more than ever thanks to a lackluster situation along the edge, where the Lions have a ton of question marks outside of their star.
