After a rough few years with both the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers, it seems Bradley Beal is set to join a new team yet again. He declined his $5.6 million player option for the 2026-27 season, so he is now an unrestricted free agent.
A team that has long been interested in him is the Miami Heat. They wanted him way back when Beal was still with the Washington Wizards, but now, it seems they finally have a mutual interest.
Bradley Beal could finally join the Miami Heat
After years of interest on the Heat's side, getting Beal would be a great acquisition for them if he is healthy and firing. Considering they might lose Norman Powell in the offseason, they desperately need more talent at the shooting guard position.
Getting Giannis Antetokounmpo was a massive move for Miami, but it left them with limited depth across multiple positions. With Powell likely gone, only Pelle Larsson can play regular minutes at shooting guard.

With Beal potentially joining Miami, he could play an off-ball role as a shooter who can capitalize on the attention on Giannis and Bam Adebayo. It seems Beal recognizes this, as it looks like he is primed to join the Heat.
"He has some interest, he has some value because a player like that is not turning down a player option unless they have some interest elsewhere. Imma say this right now, watch out for the Miami Heat," Chris Haynes reported about the Beal and Heat links.
Beal will probably not command a huge contract, so the Heat can hit on a low-risk, high-reward move like this. It will be interesting to look into because Beal still has an abundance of talent, he just needs to be healthy and fully locked in.
