WWE fans across the globe were an emotional mess after John Cena lost at Saturday Night's Main Event 2025. Amid the sea of tributes that poured in following his last match, one was from Mandy Rose, who pointed out how Cena's retirement date had coincided with hers.
The Leader of Cenation did the unthinkable when he tapped out to Gunther after being unable to overcome the monstrous challenge posed in front of him. Cena's expression while tapping out was of a man at peace, as if he had come to terms with his fate. While many fans have lambasted the booking decision, it's safe to say John Cena, on his way out, has elevated Gunther to unforeseen levels.
Following SNME 2025, Mandy Rose was among the many stars who paid their respects to the 17-time WWE Champion. The former NXT Women's Champion's tweet, however, stood out the most, as she, too, seems to have confirmed that her in-ring career is finished for good now. Check out her tweet below:
"Not me and John Cena retiring on the same day…GOAT behavior only#ThankYouCena," tweeted Rose. It's worth noting that Rose's last match also went down on December 13th, but in 2022, exactly three years before Cena called it quits for good.
John Cena is not finished with WWE
Cena might have hung up his wrestling boots, but if reports are to be believed, he's not yet done with the global juggernaut. As per Fightful Select, he is expected to make appeareance for WWE in a non-wrestling capacity.
The legendary star had previously confirmed that he had signed a new 5-year deal with the company that would see him serve as an ambassador. That being said, Cena has established himself as a bankable star in Hollywood, and most of his time going forward could be devoted to his arduous shooting schedules.
