An AEW legend recently claimed that ex-WWE executive Vince McMahon envied him. The former WWE Chairman is now out of the sports entertainment juggernaut after resigning due to the lawsuits and allegations made against him.

Veteran commentator Jim Ross recently pointed out the poor relationship between him and Vince. A few days ago, former WWE talent Todd Grisham revealed that Vince was jealous of the 73-year-old star and had tried to fire the legend multiple times. However, he was never let go because of his fame.

While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross agreed with Todd's statement and said that McMahon was jealous of him because the former WWE CEO was never as good a play-by-play commentator as the AEW name. The latter also said that he never hated Vince despite his actions.

"I never have understood Vince’s intense animosity. I think he was jealous. It was, it was never going to be the, he was, he was never the play-by-play guy that I was (...) As much grief as he gave me, I could always look at my bank account and get happy. I never had the animosity toward Vince that he had toward me and I never got it," he said. [H/T - TJR Wrestling]

Todd Grisham reveals Vince McMahon slammed him once

Todd was part of the WWE commentary team for many years. He called action for ECW and SmackDown.

When reminiscing about his huge mistake in his WWE days, on Insights with Chris Van Vliet, the former commentator recalled calling their top heel a poet, which led to a lot of cursing from Vince McMahon.

"So they did a whole thing on John Morrison; his finisher was called Starship Pain. So he wrote a poem called Starship Pain. So he’s in the ring, and I go, ‘John Morrison, Starship Pain, he’s a big fan of poetry and wrote a poem about the finisher Starship Pain.’ Vince goes insane in my ear. ‘Did you just say that our number one heel is an effing poet, you stupid F! What the f*ck! Shut up. Just shut up. Don’t say anything else!" he said.

It will be interesting to see whether Vince McMahon will ever return to WWE.
