Fans and veterans all over are mourning the legendary Hulk Hogan after he passed away last week. Due to his larger-than-life persona, his demise was covered significantly by mainstream media. Many feel former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and The Hulkster took the pro wrestling industry to new heights and made it what it is today.

AEW legend Sting recently shared an interesting story about Hogan. The Icon was a major asset for WCW since the very beginning. Later, Hulk Hogan became one of the top stars of the promotion. However, even before joining WCW, the late, great star saw huge potential in The Vigilante.

While speaking during an appearance on Big Time Wrestling, Sting said that when Hogan watched him during the WWF days, he asked Vince McMahon to sign The Icon after seeing him do an interview.

“I remember he told me a story about watching me when I was with WCW. He was still with WWF at the time, and he was watching a WCW program. He was watching me interview - with Vince McMahon - or Vince was watching with him. And I did some kind of landmark, or - you know - Venice Beach land shark interview, which was comical. And it really meant a lot to Hogan. And he said to Vince, ‘We gotta get this guy up here,’” he said. [H/T - Ringside News]
