Addison Rae Addresses Rumors Ex Bryce Hall Cheated on Her During Relationship
Addison Rae wasn't obsessed with her full stage name.
That's why the "Diet Pepsi" singer chose to ditch the second half of the moniker and go by simply "Addison" when releasing her self-titled debut album on June 6.
"I said it in an interview, I was just like, 'Oh, I think I've grown past being called Addison Rae,'" Addison recalled of the initial idea to change her name during a June 8 appearance on Quenlin Blackwell's Feeding Starving Celebrities YouTube series. "Then the album being named Addison kind of was a tie-in for that."
But that doesn't mean the TikToker—who was born Addison Rae Easterling—expects all her fans to adopt the new moniker.
"Whoever knows me as Addison Rae and knew me as Addison Rae," Addison continued, "will always know me as that."
However, the 24-year-old joked that the switch-up will make her life easier when she's signing autographs going forward.
"I just am really tired of signing 'Addison Rae,'" she quipped. "It's really long, and I would just rather sign 'Addison.'"
Noting that the change "just makes more sense," Addison added, "It's going back to the roots really."
And while the He's All That star is happy with her record's title now, she admitted that she wasn't always planning to debut her new stage name through its release.

“Sometimes people will do a song on the album as the title, and I kinda played with that a little bit," Addison shared. "But when you do hear all the music straight through, there’s not really a title that encompasses all of it."
In the end, the singer credited her inner circle with suggesting she go in a different direction.
"Everybody I played it to as well, they were just like ‘Oh, it just sounds like you, it sounds like music you would make,'" Addison recalled. "So I was like, 'So, maybe the album is just my name.'”
