Aces solidify dynasty status in impressive fashion

PHOENIX — As the final buzzer sounded Friday night, Jackie Young heaved the ball to the sky, and no one even bothered to grab it for a long while. 

Instead of retrieving the piece of history, the Aces gathered in a big circle, jumped, hugged and cheered. 

There’s a lot of uncertainty regarding what happens next in the WNBA. But on this night, it was all about the Aces. 

A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Young — the pillars of this Aces regime molded by coach Becky Hammon — sealed Las Vegas’ dynastic status Friday night with a 97-86 win to sweep the Mercury in the WNBA’s first best-of-seven series.
