Aaron Rodgers vs. Jordan Love stats comparison: Who's been better since 2024, Steelers QB or Packers QB?

3 hours ago 2

Aaron Rodgers and his Packers' successor at starting quarterback, Jordan Love, will always be linked to each other, much like Rodgers and his predecessor, Brett Favre.

Green Bay used a surprise late first-round draft pick on Love in 2020 but he didn't start until 2023, after the team parted ways with Rodgers. But Rodgers' '23 season with the Jets ended with his torn Achilles' early in Week 1.

With his healthy play for the Jets in 2024 and now the Steelers this year, the comparison between Rodgers and Love comes down to the past season and a half to see whether the Packers upgraded or downgraded by going much younger at QB.

Going into Sunday night's 2025 Week 8 matchup in Pittsburgh with Rodgers' current team hosting Love and Green Bay, here's looking at how the two QBs have fared numbers-wise vs. each other of late:

Aaron Rodgers vs. Jordan Love 2024 stats

Rodgers had only a fully healthy season for the Jets, starting all 17 games in 2024. Love started 15 regular-season contests for the Packers last season. Here's a side-by-side look at their average numbers and efficiency:

StatisticRodgers with JetsLove with Packers
Passing yards per game229.2225.9
Passing yards per attempt6.78.0
Completion percentage63.063.1
Touchdown passes2825
Interceptions1111
Passer rating90.596.7

The stats are similar, save for the yards per attempt and related rating, giving Love the advantage. He also went 9-6 as a starter, while Rodgers, with the Jets' crumbling around him, posted his worst-ever single-season record, 5-12.

Aaron Rodgers vs. Jordan Love 2025 stats

Rodgers has found more team success as a Steeler this season, going 4-2. The Packers are 4-1-1 with Love through their six games. This is a 42-year-old vs. a 27-year-old Love:

Passing yards per game211.7239.7
Passing yards per attempt7.48.2
Completion percentage68.669.3
Touchdown passes1410

Passer rating105.0108.1

Other than Rodgers throwing more TD passes, Love has heightened his play to match Rodgers' big improvement, going from the Jets' turbulence to the Steelers' stability.

Although neither QB is loaded with top-flight weapons, Love has more diversity and versatility in his targets. With Josh Jacobs, Love has had much better running support with the Packers ranked No. 15 in rushing offense (117.5 yards per game). The Steelers are down at No. 26 in that category (94.5 yards per game).

The last factor to consider is pass-play percentage. Green Bay is at No. 29, passing only 51.4 percent of the time. Not surprisingly, with the less effective running game, Pittsburgh is a few spots higher at No. 20, passing 55.96 percent of the time.

Love has everything in his favor vs. Rodgers with support in Green Bay, with Matt LaFleur's play calling providing him the biggest edge over Arthur Smith's system in Pittsburgh.

After showing only slight improvement overall in 2024, Love needed to take a big jump in 2024 to restore the faith in the Packers that he, like Rodgers and Favre before him, is a quarterback capable of winning a Super Bowl.

Rodgers reviving his career with the Steelers for (maybe) one last hurrah in the NFL has been one of the best stories in 2025. But Love has been the better QB of late, both this year and last.
