Aaron Rodgers is saying all the right things before the Week 8 game against his former team, the Green Bay Packers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback will be squaring off against his former team for the first time in his career, and in the process he has a chance to put himself in the record books.
Rodgers has beaten 31 of 32 teams in the NFL during his Hall of Fame career. The last team he needs to beat to become the fifth player in NFL history to beat all 32 teams?
You guessed it, the Packers.
Just in case you were wondering, there's no revenge game angle here. Rodgers has nothing but love for the Packers and his time in Green Bay, he told reporters on Thursday.
“Feel so good about my time there because damn near everything great in my life is because of my football career, and my football career starts, and will end one day, with Green Bay. So got a lot of love for all those memories," Rodgers said, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
"I don't have any animosity toward the organization," Rodgers said on Wednesday. "Obviously, I wish that things had been better in our last year there, but I have a great relationship with a lot of people still in that organization.
"This is not a revenge game for me. I'm just excited to see some of those guys and be on Sunday Night Football again."
Since his departure from Green Bay, which came via trade to the New York Jets, the 41-year-old signal-caller has seen better days overall.
He tore his Achilles just four plays into his first season in New York and then had a disastrous campaign in 2024 that saw the Jets miss the playoffs before sending Rodgers packing.
But Rodgers has landed on his feet with the Steelers and has proven he still has a lot of gas left in the tank. Rodgers has provided a massive upgrade for Pittsburgh over the likes of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, both of whom were lackluster last season, to say the least.
Vibes are so positive in Pittsburgh that reports suggest the Steelers could look to keep Rodgers in 2026, assuming he doesn't retire.
Rodgers hasn't said if he plans to play next season, but he seems to be enjoying his time in Pittsburgh and if things don't go south the rest of the season, we could see him end up back with the Steelers in 2026.
