The New York Yankees are one of the best teams in the Majors, but their second baseman hasn't been playing as well as expected.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. is experiencing prolonged troubles at the plate while playing on an expiring contract. The two-time All-Star is hitting .201/.281/.322 with just four home runs and a 29.3% strikeout rate through 41 games.
The Yankees could let Chisholm walk this upcoming offseason if his play on the field does not improve.
But who would his replacement be? Aaron Judge has an idea, but it's probably just wishful thinking.
Aaron Judge yesterday on Team USA teammate Brice Turang: “He was hitting the ball farther than me in BP. It was really impressive. He's one of a kind, man. I wish we had him on this team.”
— Curt Hogg (@CyrtHogg) May 10, 2026Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang displayed some of the sneaky power Judge was referencing on Sunday, blasting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth against the Yankees.
There's no easy way to break the news to Judge that the Brewers are likely not looking to move Turang. Judge's statement about the Brewers' infielder also doesn't mean he no longer wants Chisholm on the team.

The Yankees could turn to Anthony Volpe at second base next year if Chisholm leaves in free agency. By that time, top prospect George Lombard Jr. may be ready to take over the shortstop job in the Majors.
Landing Turang is a long shot for the Yankees, something Judge is likely well aware of. But there's no harm in throwing the idea out there for New York's front office.
