Aaron Glenn has Jets buying in on his rediscovered ‘superpower’

After a year away from it, Aaron Glenn is back in his element. 

Glenn worked his entire post-playing career with one primary goal in his sights: to become the head coach of the Jets, the team that drafted him and for whom he carved out a distinguished career as a top cornerback. 

Then, when he finally got his dream job, he stopped doing one of the very things that landed him the gig in the first place: calling defensive plays on game day. 

It was understandable that Glenn, as a first-time head coach, would opt to delegate so he could truly become the CEO of the team. That tactic, of course, didn’t work out. You know the rest: Steve Wilks hired as defensive coordinator, a 31st ranking in points allowed, 29th in total yards allowed and a 3-14 record.
