New Jets coach Aaron Glenn had some fun with the media on Thursday night after the Jets made their first-round pick in this year’s draft, when a reporter asked him if he wanted to respond to Aaron Rodgers’ criticisms.

The Jets coach smirked a bit before replying.

“Absolutely,” Glenn said before a brief pause. “[Armand] Membou’s a really good player, and I am so excited that he’s a Jet.”

Aaron Glenn was asked if he had a response to Aaron Rodgers' recent comments on the Pat McAfee Show:

Membou, of course, had been the Jets’ pick at No. 7 overall earlier in the night and Glenn seemed to be more interested in discussing his new player than digging into the complaints of a now former one.

Rodgers had slammed the Jets and, in particular Glenn, over the way their divorce had played out earlier this year during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week.

The future Hall of Fame QB expressed that Glenn had not shown “ample respect” during a meeting in February that last 15 minutes after Rodgers had flown from California to meet with Jets brass at the team’s facility in New Jersey.

“I think we are going to have this long conversation,” he said. “I’ve flown across the country, and 20 seconds in, he goes and he leans to the edge of his seat and says, ‘So, you want to play football?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m interested.’ And he was like, ‘We’re going in a different direction at quarterback.’

“I was kind of shocked. Not shocked because I didn’t think it was a possibility, but shocked because I just flew across the country and you could’ve told me this over the phone.”

Instead of engaging in a back and forth with Rodgers, the Jets have opted not to address the comments.

Darren Mougey, the Jets’ new general manager, declined to discuss Rodgers during a pre-draft meeting with the media.
